We have found that sellers who follow the directions on this web page make an average of 40% more than sellers who do not. Yes, it is long, but it is important!

In order to prepare for our Spring & Summer Sale, Tadpoles Gwinnett's last buying day will be Saturday, January 23rd. Buying stops at 5:30 PM. We will resume a normal buying schedule on Tuesday, February 9th.

  • VHS tapes
  • Sticker books, pop-up books, used coloring books

When do we buy?

Every day except Sunday and Monday. We accept items for purchase from 10-4:30 during the week and 10-5:30 on Saturday. We STOP buying two hours before closing, so if you have a large amount of items, the earlier you arrive, the better. We are usually not very busy first thing in the morning. Lunch time and just before we stop buying are the busiest times. If you show up with two full tubs (or more) at 4:30, you will likely be turned away. Please allow us adequate time to go through your items. We do not go through your items with you before, during or after the buying process is over. If you have particular items that you are not sure about selling, please do not bring them with items you are sure you are ready to get rid of. We do not break down your buy item by item - it is a bulk offer for all items we are purchasing from you.

Should I bring my items to Tadpoles?

Take a good, long look at each item you're bringing and ask yourself, "why am I interested in selling this item?"

If the answer is:

-It's more than 2 or 3 years old
-It's worn out/stained
-It needs repair
-It looks dated or out of style
-It's not very good quality
-I just want all this old stuff out of my closet!
-I couldn't sell it at my yard sale/the consignment sale/the other two consignment stores I took it to, so I thought I would bring it to you before I take it to Goodwill.
-It's been in storage for several years.

Stop!! Shoppers would feel the same way you do about these things so it's unlikely Tadpoles will accept them. You might consider making a charitable donation of these garments.

How to bring in your clothes

How to get the most out of selling your children's clothing:

  1. Presentation counts! WASH THE CLOTHING (and completely dry it), iron as necessary. This makes the best impression. A basket full of pressed clothing from Wal-Mart is more appealing than a trash bag of wrinkled clothing from Neiman Marcus. (HINT: We love the smell of fabric softener! :)
  2. Avoid any stains, tears or missing buttons and check zippers as well. A fluorescent light is best for checking for stains.
  3. Items in a container (laundry basket, box, plastic storage tub, etc.) are preferable, but not required at this time. Containers will be returned with your unaccepted items.

Clothing Must Be "Rack-Ready":

  • Freshly laundered (completely dry) & odor free (except detergent/fabric softener) - please be very careful if your household is a smoking one - we are not able to accept items with smoke odors. Other problem odors we run into are cooking odors, pet odors and gasoline odors. Do not store clothes in the trunk of your car for longer than it takes to bring them to Tadpoles. If your clothes have been in storage, please freshly launder them before bringing them in. Even if you can't smell it, other people can.
  • No lint or animal hair
  • Current styles - no more than 2 or 3 years old, especially if it's maternity.
  • Please put outfits/sets together in sizes 24 months and below. Outfits and sets sell better in these sizes than do individual pieces.
  • Excellent condition - no missing buttons, stains or tears etc.
  • Items should be laid out and stacked flat
  • In easily carried containers (by you and our buyers) - Thanks

Equipment Must Be:

  • Squeaky clean
  • Excellent working condition
  • Not under recall
  • Have all working pieces
  • Have any necessary batteries - amount given for item will be reduced by $1 for each battery Tadpoles must provide - Tadpoles does not stock batteries and your item may be rejected if you do not have working batteries in your item when you bring it in to sell.
  • Fully assembled - may be assembled in store, by you. Tadpoles employees may be able to assist you in assembly, but please plan to do all in-store assembly on your own with your own tools.

VERY IMPORTANT - PLEASE READ!
  • No appointment is necessary!
  • The less you bring, the quicker it can be finished.
  • Priority is given to sellers waiting in the store.
  • Buying stops TWO HOURS before closing, so plan accordingly. If we cannot complete your buy before buying stops, we will not be able to accept your items.
  • Large drop offs are discouraged. If you have more than two or three containers, please plan to make several trips.

If you are a first-time seller with Tadpoles, we recommend you bring less than 100 pieces of clothing (one or two laundry baskets) in order to get an idea of our pricing.

We are NOT able to store items overnight. You MUST come back before the close of business on the day you leave your items in order to pick up anything we could not purchase.

How we pay you out

$$$$$ We do pay cash the same day $$$$$

Please Note: - In order to maintain our excellent reputation, we are very selective as we examine each item thoroughly. We accept and price items according to brand, condition, and currency of style. Our offer to you is typically between 20% to 40% of our initial selling price. Offers are based on all items accepted and we are not able to remove individual items from the offer. Please understand and be aware, we are NOT able to give you an item by item listing, due to the large volume of our inventory and the number of sellers each buying day. Naturally, you have the option to accept our offer or refuse it as long as you do so on the day you leave your items.

TIP: If this is your first time in to sell to us, you may want to visit our store to get an idea of how much we are able to sell things for and therefore, have an idea of what we may be able to pay you.

Remember...the better your clothes look, the higher price we will be able to put on them and the more you will receive for them!

See You At Tadpoles!
