Tadpoles Buying Policies and Selling Tips

Please note: We are currently experiencing a larger volume of sellers than normal. While we try to process your items while you are in the store, this is not always possible. Priority is given to sellers with one SMALL basket of clothing (fewer than 50 pieces) who can wait in the store. Sellers with larger quantities are always welcome with the understanding that the more you bring, the longer it takes. If you intend to bring a large amount of clothing and you are driving a long distance, you may wish to plan a visit to the mall, Grandma's house or the movies while you wait. :) Also, the earlier you arrive, the better. Thank you for your understanding.

HANGERS, HANGERS, HANGERS! Please bring your clothing ON store hangers if possible. Leave wire & tubular (the kind you buy at Target/Wal-Mart in a pack) at home - bring us the kind you get free at the store.
ALL SEASONS! Boys & Girls Clothing up to size 12 and maternity, all sizes (we are being EXTREMELY selective* on girls' sizes 10 & 12 and maternity sizes small and medium) - As our inventory changes daily, please call ahead and ask about the specific sizes you are bringing if you are making a special trip. 770-499-7010
Baby Equipment - strollers, swings, exersaucers, carriers (Baby Bjorn, Snugli, slings, etc.), pack & plays, bassinets, booster seats, high chairs, bed rails, safety gates, play yards, changing tables, cradles, DVDs, CDs, books. Please call before traveling with large items as our equipment inventory changes daily and we may be full on the item(s) you wish to bring.

*"Selective" typically means that Tadpoles currently has a large inventory of that size or season and will be buying accordingly. Better brands such as Gymboree, Ralph Lauren, Olian, Baby Nay, Baby Lulu, Hanna Andersson, Lilly Pulitzer, etc. and most items with store tags still attached are ALWAYS welcome.

Take a good, long look at each item you're bringing and ask yourself, "why am I interested in selling this item?"

-It's more than 2 or 3 years old
-It's worn out/stained
-It needs repair
-It looks dated or out of style
-It's not very good quality
-I just want all this old stuff out of my closet!
-I couldn't sell it at my yard sale/the consignment sale/the other two consignment stores I took it to, so I thought I would bring it to you before I take it to Goodwill.
-It's been in storage for several years and I just want it gone.

Stop!! Shoppers would feel the same way you do about these things so it's unlikely Tadpoles will accept them. You might consider making a charitable donation of these garments.

Presentation counts! Make sure your clothes are freshly laundered, pressed as necessary. This makes the best impression.
Avoid any stains, tears or missing buttons and check zippers as well. Please remove safety pins.
Items must be in a container (laundry basket, box, plastic storage tub, etc.) - NO TRASH BAGS. Containers will be returned with your unaccepted items.

Freshly laundered & odor free - please be very careful if your household is a smoking one - we are not able to accept items with smoke odors.

Items should be laid out and stacked flat

How to drop-off

TIP: No appointment is necessary! The less you bring, the quicker it can be finished. Priority is given to sellers waiting in the store. Buying stops at 4 PM, so if you arrive at 3:55, it is unlikely we will be able to look through your items. Large drop offs are discouraged. If you have more than two or three containers, please plan to make several trips.

If you are a first-time seller with Tadpoles, we recommend you bring less than 100 pieces of clothing (one or two laundry baskets) in order to get an idea of our pricing.

On a case by case basis, our regular sellers unable to return during our buying hours, and who are already familiar with our pricing, may agree ahead of time to accept our offer and pick up their cash/check and items not purchased, after published buying hours.

How we pay you out

Please Note: - In order to maintain our excellent reputation, we are very selective as we examine each item thoroughly. We accept and price items according to brand, condition, and currency of style. Our offer to you is typically between 20% to 40% of our initial selling price. Offers are based on all items accepted and we are not able to remove individual items from the offer. Please understand and be aware, we are NOT able to give you an item by item listing, due to the large volume of our inventory and the number of sellers each buying day. Naturally, you have the option to accept our offer or refuse it as long as you do so during our buying hours.

Please Note: Due to safety concerns, car seats cannot be accepted. We additionally do not take cribs or bedding. Current inventory & demand also factor into whether Tadpoles will be able to take these items, so feel free to call (770) 499-7010 before making the trip with your larger items.

Remember...the better your clothes look, the higher price we will be able to put on them and the more you will receive for them!
