We have found that sellers who follow the directions on this web page make an average of 40% more than sellers who do not. Yes, it is long, but it is important!

In order to prepare for our Spring & Summer Sale, Tadpoles Kennesaw LAST buying day will be on Saturday, January 23rd. Buying stops at 4:30 PM. We will resume a normal buying schedule on Tuesday, February 9th.

PLEASE BRING YOUR ITEMS IN A LAUNDRY BASKET OR TUB - clothing items in trash bags or without a container will be turned away.

GIRLS:

Sizes Preemie, Newborn, 0-3 mo, 9-12 mo, 18-24 mo, 12, 14, 16 (please note we are VERY particular about brand & style in sizes 10 & above - think Abercrombie, Aeropostale, Hollister, Justice, American Eagle, Old Navy, Gap, Ralph Lauren etc.)

BOYS:

Sizes Preemie, Newborn, 0-3 mo, 9-12 mo, 12-18 mo, 2, 5, 6, 7, 8, 10, 12, 14, 16 (please note we are VERY particular about brand & style in sizes 10 & above - think Abercrombie, Aeropostale, Hollister, American Eagle, Old Navy, Gap, Polo, etc.)

Please note: While we try to process your items while you are in the store, this is not always possible. Priority is given to sellers with one SMALL basket of clothing (fewer than 50 pieces) who can wait in the store. Sellers with larger quantities are always welcome with the understanding that the more you bring, the longer it takes. If you intend to bring a large amount of clothing and you are driving a long distance, you may wish to plan a visit to the mall, Grandma's house or the movies while you wait. :) Also, the earlier you arrive, the better. Thank you for your understanding.

We are NOW accepting CAR SEATS on WEDNESDAYS ONLY!! Car seats must be no more than 4 years old (for infant seats) and no more than 3.5 years old for convertibles/boosters. There should be a date sticker on your car seat.

We're NOT accepting the following

  • Items in Trash Bags
  • Cribs, Used Breast Pumps, Crib Sets
  • VHS tapes
  • Used Toys (with exception of larger toys)
  • Recalled items

If you have more than one small basket, please plan to be at Tadpoles as close to 10 am as possible if you prefer same day service. We do all we can to accommodate all sellers as quickly as possible, but same day service is not always possible. Call-ahead helps, but we can still not guarantee same-day service.

Should I bring my items to Tadpoles?

Take a good, long look at each item you're bringing and ask yourself, "why am I interested in selling this item?"

If the answer is:

-It's more than 2 or 3 years old
-It's worn out/stained
-It needs repair
-It looks dated or out of style
-It's not very good quality
-I just want all this old stuff out of my closet!
-I couldn't sell it at my yard sale/the consignment sale/the other two consignment stores I took it to, so I thought I would bring it to you before I take it to Goodwill.
-It's been in storage for several years and I just want it gone.

Stop!! Shoppers would feel the same way you do about these things so it's unlikely Tadpoles will accept them. You might consider making a charitable donation of these garments.

How to bring in your clothes

How to get the most out of selling your children's clothing:

  1. Presentation counts! Make sure your clothes are freshly laundered, pressed as necessary. This makes the best impression.
  2. Avoid any stains, tears or missing buttons and check zippers as well. Please remove safety pins.
  3. Items must be in a container (laundry basket, box, plastic storage tub, etc.) - NO TRASH BAGS. Containers will be returned with your unaccepted items.

Clothing Must Be "Rack-Ready":

  • Freshly laundered (completely dry) & odor free (except detergent/fabric softener) - please be very careful if your household is a smoking one - we are not able to accept items with smoke odors. Other problem odors we run into are cooking odors, pet odors and gasoline odors. Do not store clothes in the trunk of your car for longer than it takes to bring them to Tadpoles. If your clothes have been in storage, please freshly launder them before bringing them in. Even if you can't smell it, other people can.
  • No lint or animal hair
  • Current styles
  • Preferably name brand clothing
  • Excellent condition - no missing buttons, stains or tears etc.
  • Items should be laid out and stacked flat
  • In easily carried containers (by you and our buyers) - Thanks

Equipment and Toys Must Be:

  • Squeaky clean
  • Excellent working condition
  • Up to current safety standards
  • Have all working pieces
  • Have any necessary batteries
  • Fully assembled
  • Toys must be NEW IN BOX.

    How to drop-off

    TIP: No appointment is necessary! The less you bring, the quicker it can be finished. Priority is given to sellers waiting in the store. Buying stops at 4 PM, so if you arrive at 3:55, it is unlikely we will be able to look through your items. Large drop offs are discouraged. If you have more than two or three containers, please plan to make several trips.

    If you are a first-time seller with Tadpoles, we recommend you bring less than 100 pieces of clothing (one or two laundry baskets) in order to get an idea of our pricing.

    On a case by case basis, our regular sellers unable to return during our buying hours, and who are already familiar with our pricing, may agree ahead of time to accept our offer and pick up their cash/check and items not purchased, after published buying hours.

    How we pay you out

    $$$$$ We do pay cash the same day $$$$$

  • You will receive between 20% and 40% of our initial selling price.
  • Your offer is based on all items we accept and is not itemized.
  • Our computer system does not allow us to remove individual items from your offer, so please do not bring items that you don't want to sell.
  • You will be given a time to return to pick up your items & your cash. Due to the high volume of sellers each day, we are not able to call you when your items are ready.
  • You may accept or reject our offer during buying hours on the day you are scheduled to pick up your items.
  • After the day you are scheduled to return, unpurchased items will be donated and purchased items tagged. Your cash will remain in the system for you to spend at any time or receive as a cash payout during buying hours.

TIP: If this is your first time in to sell to us, you may want to visit our store to get an idea of how much we are able to sell things for and therefore, have an idea of what we may be able to pay you.

Remember...the better your clothes look, the higher price we will be able to put on them and the more you will receive for them!
